F.A.Q.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a typical whale watch trip last?

Trips last three to three and a half hours, depending on conditions.

What should I bring?

Temperatures at sea are normally a few degrees colder than they are on land, so we recommend that you dress in layers and bring something warm. We also recommend polarized sunglasses, shoes or sneakers with good traction, and a disposable camera to record your trip! Also, don’t forget sunblock. If you forget anything, we have a number of these items available to purchase on board.

Do you serve food on board?

Yes, we offer a full array of delicious food and beverages in our galley.

Can we feed the whales?

No. Whales eat tons of small fish, and have absolutely no interest in human food.

Are there restrooms on board?

Yes, of course. And they’re spotless.

Can I bring a pet with me?

Yes. We are pet-friendly, so long as your pet is human-friendly! Your pet must be on a leash or in a crate to ensure safety. Also, be advised that we do not have “pet restrooms”, so your pet will need to be ready for a 4-hour trip. Be sure to notify us in advance if you plan to bring your pet on board.

Do you offer group discounts?

Yes we do. Large groups receive ticket discounts relative to their size. Please call our office at 508-487-1102 / 1-800-225-4000 for more information on this.

What can I expect to see on one of your whale watches?

Exact sightings vary from trip to trip, but you may see any of the following:

  1. -Whales! We see lots of Humpback whales, Fin whales and Minke whales. We’ve even been known to spot Right whales, Orcas (Killer whales), and even a Blue whale or two!

  2. -Dolphins - Atlantic White-sided dolphins are common in the area, and love to put on a show for our boats.

  3. -Pelagic Birds - These special birds spend most of their entire lives at sea!

  4. -Seals - There are five different species of seals that you may spot on your trip.

  5. -Sharks - We have been known to find Basking sharks, Blue sharks, Mako sharks, and even the occasional Great White shark!

When should I arrive for my trip?

We recommend arriving a half hour prior to your trip’s departure. This will allow you plenty of time to check in and get settled. Also, parking can sometimes be a problem, so we recommend allowing some extra time for this as well.

What if we don’t see any whales?

In the very unlikely event that there are no whale sightings on your trip, everyone on the boat will receive a free ticket for another trip at a convenient date.
